Location The Dayton Convention Center is located in downtown Dayton and within walking distance from the city's finest restaurants, hotels, and entertainment facilities. The center is ideal for weddings, corporate events, meetings, conferences, conventions, and private parties. Parking There are entrance ramps to the parking structures on the following streets: E. Fifth Street & Jefferson Street, E. Fifth Street, and E. Sixth Street. Clearance (for Trucks, Vans, Campers, SUV's) is 6' 6". Meeting Space Located in the heart of downtown Dayton, the Convention Center has two large exhibit areas and a 674 seat theatre. The Dayton Convention Center can accommodate groups of 30 to 3,500 people comfortably and offers quality sound and lighting systems and can be prepared for A/V presentations, computer connections, and even teleconferencing.
Transportation Dayton offers a range of transportation options including bus and taxi services.
Dayton is at the confluence of four shallow streams that drain the upper portion of the rich Miami Valley. The site was first surveyed in November 1795, and the following spring three small groups of settlers named the new settlement in honor of Gen. Jonathan Dayton. Today Dayton is home to more than 830 high-technology companies. Many original buildings still stand in one of the city's first communities, now known as the Oregon Historic District.
This 12-block area is bordered by 5th Street, Wayne Avenue, US 35 and Patterson Boulevard. Christmas tours of the district take place the first Tuesday and Wednesday evenings of December; spring garden tours are available in late May and June.
