Location The Arlington Convention Center is located in the heart of the Entertainment District of Arlington, TX and just minutes from Ameriquest Field, Six Flags over Texas, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, and Arlington's finest hotels and restaurants. For added convenience, the convention center is only 15 minutes south of the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Parking After passing Ameriquest Field (on the left), the Convention Center will be on the left side, south of the Wyndham Hotel. Enter at the marquee and proceed to the parking area on the west side of the facility; parking is $5.00. Meeting Space The Center has nearly 50,000 square feet of column-free exhibit space, and 12 meeting rooms. Within the center is the 30,000 square foot Grand Hall. The pre-function gallery and outdoor terraces provide and additional 9,500 square feet of functional space.

The city of Arlington grew out of a trading post established at Marrow Bone Springs in accordance with the Indian Peace Council of 1843. Originally named Hayter, the town was renamed for Robert E. Lee's hometown in Virginia. Upon the arrival of the Texas and Pacific Railway in 1876, Arlington became a market center for surrounding communities, remaining an agricultural community until after World War II. The construction of a General Motors assembly plant in 1951 spurred commercial expansion; city population increased by more than 75 percent during the 1970s.
